Hi Gail, yeah it would be great if all the old Herspectives bunch wrote in and reconnected. I'll try to get the news about this site out to some of them and see how it goes. Thanks for your input.

Poem from my book: She is Carved in Stone.

Who Am I

Kornfield asks in After the Ecstasy, the Laundry: "Who am I? Who was born in this body? Is this who I really am? Is this the timeless?

In other words
Am I living my authentic Self
No little knots of fear
Anywhere
Breathing clearly through my belly
All the time, all the time, all
The Time
Aware that every stop is Sacred Ground

The rest of the journey is about commitment
To my own ethic, nothing else
Putting my beliefs into action
Breathing deeply, clearly, openly
Until the last one the last one the last One

It doesn't mean
I'm not allowed to express fear or grief, or disblief
Or even rage
Only that I am always
True to my ethic
Looking clearly into the abyss
And ready to jump when it's time

Oh my what a surprise, both to hear from you and then to find out such an astonishing thing about Herspectives being one of the first to publish your poems. They are so GOOD, I can't imagine why others didn't pick them up long before Herspectives came along, but I am so gla dit can go down as yet one more of our accomplishments. Thanks so much for letting me know.
hugs right back, Win,
Mary

A while ago I was reading a book by Robert Thurman about Buddhism and I wrote down a couple of things that resonated with me. When chanting the words Om Uh Hum, the Oh represents the crown chakra, the Uh, the throat and the Hum, the heart.

He also gave a list of rules that I liked, in spite of the fact that we've always said Herspectives was about Breaking All The Rules, but of course that means everything we do is our own choice. These then perhaps are not rules so much as guidelines for peaceful co-existence:
Not kill
Not steal
Not commit sexual misconduct
Not lie
Not cause dissension
Not speak harshly
Not speak meaninglessly
Not hold malice
Not greedily think of getting something from others
Not be preduciced or fanatical
************
let me know what you think.

i like the rules ... we should all chose to live by them ... the world would be a better place and maybe peace would have a chance.

Happy Full Moon everyone. I am just going out to meet with ARC and the rest of the Moondrummers for our full moon celebration.

Crazy weather has driven us indoors but we will be outside in our hearts, drumming away and remembering the past times.

Blessed Be,

Hi Mary, it's me Louise

I love all the poetry quotes everyone!

Wow! I just found out that "linking" blogs-putting a link in your "Interests" list on the column on the side of the blog text page-brings more visitors, usually with the same linterests, and content as yours! Cool!

I'm thinking of starting a blog again. Does anyone have recommendations?

Mary, I hope you are feeling much better now. I've been sending prayers your way.

Hugs Louise
